• A teaching qualification in Preschool or Montessori, preferably with some knowledge of Child Psychology.
• An understanding of the Montessori material.
• Teaching experience in a Nursery for a minimum of 3 years.
• Good organizational and teamwork skills.
• Sound written and verbal communication skills in English.
• A good level of computer literacy.
• Basic knowledge of First Aid.
• Ability to undertake administrative tasks if and when required.
• Candidates with experience and qualifications in Special Needs Education will have an added advantage.

The responsibilities of an Assistant Teacher at S. Thomas' College, Mount Lavinia Nursery include:

• Following the Childcare Regulations and Standards.
• Ensuring a clean and safe learning environment for the children.
• Assisting the main teacher in classroom activities and curriculum implementation.
• Supporting the educational and emotional development of the children.
• Collaborating with other teachers and staff members in planning and executing educational programs.
• Providing individualized attention to students and addressing their needs.
• Assisting with administrative tasks when required.
